Each year, students have several opportunities to participate in school-sponsored missions events. Some of these are on-campus, others are in our area, and some are around the world!
On-Campus
In addition to individual students sharing Christ with other students or finding ways to share God’s word around campus, there are some opportunities for individuals to join group missions projects on campus. All students and families are invited to begin the year with a prayer walk around our campus in early August. Similarly, we gather for See You at the Pole to pray for our school and nation. Also, individual classes and clubs regularly look for ways to serve those in need by raising money or collecting toys, coats, toiletries, etc.
Locally
There are off-campus opportunities as well. We regularly work with Send Relief, an arm of the North American Mission Board, to share the gospel and serve in tangible ways in the greater Memphis area. Also, NCS students can minister to the students at Binghamton Christian Academy on a monthly basis by going there to provide a meal and fellowship with those students.
Around the World
Northpoint offers two specific missions trips each year as part of our Home Missions Studies Class and International Missions Studies class. The Home Missions Studies class spends the semester learning about missions, exploring how to share their faith, and then culminates in a domestic missions trip. In the past this class has ministered in Chicago, Nashville, Hopkinsville (KY), and Clarksdale (MS). The International Missions Studies class also spends the semester learning about missions and evangelism and preparing to serve one week overseas. For the last several years, this class has done construction, evangelism, and VBS in the bush area of Jamaica.
