From the Head of Lower School
At NCS, learning and excelling occur in a nurturing environment along with a challenging and rigorous curriculum. We strive to meet the needs of varied learning styles, while implementing a Christ-centered education into all of our subject areas.
The chief purpose of our school is to glorify God and to serve Him in all things. Our goals and objectives are designed to provide distinctive Christian education in an atmosphere of academic excellence. At NCS, we strive to meet the needs of our young people, and we are committed to training and developing the body, mind, and spirit of our students. Tremendous growth and a love for learning characterize the elementary years. Students grow in biblical knowledge, academic skills, and social understanding.
Students are active learners in a deep and innovative college preparatory academic program that includes instruction in Bible, the Foundations and Frameworks Reading Program, Phonics First Program, Sadlier Math, Big Ideas Math, English, spelling, creative writing, social studies, and science. The elementary program is enriched with music, art, Spanish, band, choir, drama productions, library skills, computer skills, physical education, plus weekly chapel programs.
Critical thinking skills that examine academics and life experiences from biblical perspectives are promoted throughout each day. All subjects are framed in biblical truth and challenge students to use their God-given abilities to glorify Him.
Elementary teachers are highly qualified and participate regularly in professional development opportunities. They embrace a biblical model for instruction and discipline as they instruct and equip students for future service.
